The Vision Behind the Project
In response to the growing demand for high-quality, low-emission fuels across Europe and the Baltic region, Chemover launched the Gdańsk Refinery Expansion Project in early 2023. Situated strategically along Poland’s northern coastline, the refinery has long served as a vital link in the national energy supply chain. But with tightening EU fuel standards, increasing global fuel complexity, and the need for greater processing efficiency, an upgrade was not just necessary — it was inevitable.

What the Expansion Includes
The project involves a comprehensive overhaul and expansion of the existing refining infrastructure, covering:

Construction of a new Hydrocracking Unit (HCU): Designed to increase the output of diesel and jet fuel while reducing sulfur content in line with Euro VI standards.
